Advent: Come, Jesus, Come

I can't believe that we are already entering the first week of Advent! Advent means "Coming" and God has been coming closer and closer to His people throughout history and time.
This year, there are only two Riverkids Sundays during Advent (1st Sunday of Advent was an all-together service and the 4th will be the All-Age Christmas Celebration (12/22). For the next two weeks, the children will be wondering and exploring the different ways Jesus is coming for the world, for our city, for our church, and for us, individually.
To get the most out of the season, here are just a few things we invite our families to do:

  • Take your children to Riverkids - There will be discussions and engaging activities. We will be asking questions like: What does it look like for jesus to come to me at home? at school? at the playground? How would I feel? What do I hope from Jesus?

  • Build a nativity set together - We have included a printable nativity set for families with younger children. We hope that it provides a special time for your family to mark Advent and talk about how Jesus is coming into your family this season.

  • Listen to the River Advent Reflections - You can find the daily reflection & prayer on the RiverApp or the website to help us focus our attention during this important season. Advent Candles are available for $5 on the welcome table (13th floor).

  • Come to church this Sunday (12/8) and enjoy the HOLIDAY FAIR after the service!  Check out the different talents and crafts our community has to offer. There will be hot chocolates, marshmallows, and plenty of other goodies. A portion of the proceeds to benefit http://Asha-USA.org

As always, thank you for your support and help. Let us pray together for God's transforming love to enter to our children and families during this season: "Come, Jesus, come"
