The River is built on the great Christian statements of faith, including the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed. We started as a non-denominational evangelical church but, because of our conviction that Jesus stands for inclusion rather than judgment, we have fully affirmed the LGBTQ community as members, teachers, and leaders in our church. Since then, our membership has widened to include people from mainline Protestant, Catholic, and secular backgrounds, all united in our pursuit of Jesus. We feel this diversity is a unique strength of our church!
We aim to create safe space where we can have actual experiences of the living God that make our lives better.
We believe God is love and Jesus is good news to everyone, everywhere, at all times!
We believe God is moving the Church forward and so:
*We place no limitations on women in leadership.
*We fully welcome and affirm LGBTQ persons.
*We embrace science and scholarship.
*We avoid political partisanship.
