What it it? Lent is the period of 6 weeks that lead up to Easter Sunday, which falls on April 21 this year. People of faith have traditionally used this time to press into their spiritual lives and prepare for a big celebration on "resurrection Sunday" and the season of Eastertide that follows. At the River, we call this season "40 Days of Faith" and it's always one of the most exciting times of year!
This year we will READ the Gospel of Mark together and RESPOND here on the site. Each weekday we will post a short passage from Mark along with a brief response from various members of the River community here on this page. We invite you to comment - even just a word or two - to let the writer know you read their post. If you have more thoughts, feel free to write more!
