We offer classes throughout the year that are designed to encourage spiritual growth as well as provide practical instruction on how to get the most out of life. Classes are also great opportunities to connect with others!   Here's our current lineup:

What is SEEK?

SEEK is a 10-week class that provides a safe space to explore spirituality from a unique perspective and includes an emphasis on the practical aspects faith. It provides plenty of opportunities to ask questions and engage in friendly discussions with a consistent group of people. Each evening runs from 7-9:15 pm and includes dinner, a short thought-provoking talk, and a relaxed group discussion. There is no cost for SEEK.

Centered Life---learning to follow Jesus

Who is "Centered Life" for?

  • those who are just starting out a journey of faith...
  • Those who would say, “I’m beginning to believe this stuff…what’s next?”...
  • Those new to following God who'd like an introduction to helpful spiritual practices....

What is "Centered Life"?

C.L. is a course/group that will examine practical “how-to” training in our spiritual lives. It includes topics like:  How to Build the Best Foundation for my Spiritual Life;  How to Follow on Jesus on Earth; Living a Dynamic Life of Faith. It provides teaching, coaching and plenty of opportunities to engage in friendly discussions about spirituality with others. Centered Life runs for 3 ten-week semesters on Sunday evenings. There is no cost for C.L.

What Happens at "Centered Life"?

C.L. includes both class/group time AND an opportunity to be coached on a more personal basis. The class: Every other week the class (taught by Charles Park & John Furste) will cover topics of concern for people who are beginning a walk with God with an emphasis on practical training in our spiritual lives. After the teaching there will time for discussion in small groups. Coaching:   In the intervening weeks, for those who are interested, there will be opportunity to meet in smaller groups or one-on-one with leaders from the River whose aim is to support you in your relationship with God and help you deepen your ability to walk with Him.

Intro to the River -- October 17

"Intro to the River" is the first step for anyone new to the church. In this 75 minute class you'll have a chance to meet the staff as we share the story of how the church came to be and "why we do what we do". It's a great way to get questions answered as well as meet others who are also new to the church.

Who is "Intro to the River" for?

  • Anyone who is new to the church
  • Anyone who is curious about the "inside scoop" on how the church got started
  • Anyone who wants to know the vision & values of the church
  • Anyone who desires to learn what the River is all about

 

River Partners 101 -- TBA

"River Partners 101" is for anyone who like to learn more about "partnering up" with the River. This 75 minute class (similar to membership) is especially geared for people who are considering getting more involved.

Who is "River Partners 101" for?

  • Anyone who would say, "The River is my home church."
  • Anyone who would say, "I love what's going on around here."
  • Anyone who wants to help build the church.
  • Anyone who desires to get connected and contribute at a deeper level at the River.

River 201 - "Leadership Training"

River 201 is a 4 week bible study with Senior Pastor Charles Park that seeks to establish foundations for a Christ-centered life. It explores core theological concepts for potential leaders by examining some of Jesus' key teachings and parables. This class is required for those who would like to be a part of the River's Leadership Community (although attending does not obligate you to lead.) River 201 is by invitation only.

 

River 301

River 301 is a periodic training for those who are a part of the Leadership Community. These gatherings include theology and leadership development as well as an annual summer retreat and winter "mini-retreat."
